home business success principles

FIND A MENTOR.

Every successful entrepreneur imitates the winners – whether you look to the stars in your industry or to the example of leadership and personal development gurus.

Whatever business you’re in, I suggest you find out who else does what you do – and does it insanely well – and introduce yourself to that person (physically or virtually).

Home business success principles like this one are often overlooked because people:

1) Are afraid of looking like they don’t know what they’re doing;
2) Feel threatened by the competition (the mentor); and
3) Think they have all the answers and don’t need to rely on anyone.

People Are Surprisingly Eager And
Willing To Share Their Wisdom And Experience With You.

Just imagine if someone came to you for your advice about your line of work. You’d want to share everything you know and you’d feel honored they came to you.

So align yourself with someone whose work, stature, and leadership you admire. Learn from the best.

Also commit to reading books and attending seminars that help you become a better you. Successful entrepreneurs tend to be personal development junkies, spending hundreds, even thousands of dollars annually on self-improvement.

I’ve heard people grumble about the cost of some courses, asking, “Why should I pay for something I should be able to get for free?”

Because, first of all, the experience you’ll have as a result and the education you’ll get is worth more than you’ll ever pay for the course.

And here’s another home business success principle you need to get used to – EMBRACE actually: Other people are making money off of you and it's OKAY. You’re about to make money off of people as well!

There’s Nothing Wrong With Making Money Off Of Other People If You’re Providing Something Of Value That Can Make Them Happier Or Make Their Lives Easier.

(For more on cultivating a Millionaire Mindset and overcoming your personal obstacles to financial success, hear what T. Harv Eker has to say.)

Then there are those I’ve sat side by side with in seminars who have said, “I’m only here because my company is paying for it.”

If only they knew how much they were cheating themselves! They should have been rejoicing that their company was paying for it –and they were receiving extraordinary free education that would make them better at their work and better as human beings.

But since you’re a budding entrepreneur, I’m sure you already seek out opportunities to educate yourself, right? So let’s move on.

You might look into courses and programs such as Dale Carnegie or Landmark Education. Or perhaps go on a cruise with Bob Proctor.

Read or listen to audio books such as:

The more you tap into yourself and your potential (as well as your pitfalls), the better you’ll be and the better your business will become.

You’ll also find that people who are interested in bettering themselves speak a certain language – one that conveys empowerment of self and others and a positive mental attitude.

You’ll need these gifts along the way.
